GROUND ZERO is a new wave of Ethnic Music. Ethnic music with a different taste is what GROUND ZERO is all about. Ground Zero was formed in 2008 at their hometown Kalimpong (Darjeeling)......and since then the band has never looked back. GZ has taken part and won different beat contest and has played various gigs in different venues namely Snow Fest (Winner), North Eastern Rockers Sikkim Edition(Runners Up), Tea and Tourism Festival 2012,2013,2014, Pine Fest, several gigs for Shankar Foundation (Fund raising gigs for HIV+'s), The Hornbill International Festival 2013.......and many many more. GZ has always believed in making their own style of music adding ethnic elements. Ground Zero released its debut album (Samay) in 2013 January. GZ includes traditional instruments in their performance. GZ has been widely accepted by the masses even in Nepal and Bhutan........! Ground Zero was started when we were not satisfied with what we were doing in our previous bands. So we started the band and named it Ground Zero which means the base or ground level….as we were to start from the beginning and think not of whatever we ever played with our previous bands as we wanted a fresh start, a new style of music and so here we are loving what we play and playing what we love....!
